What do I need to run Aurora?
Aurora runs on iPhone and iPad and requires iOS 17 or later. It works in portrait and landscape, and supports ProMotion (120 Hz) displays.
Do I need an account?
No. There's no sign-up and no login. Aurora works fully offline — just open it and touch to begin.
How do I paint?
There is no wrong move. Tap to seed sparkles, buildings, or trees; drag slowly to set a wind the scene keeps following; press and hold to gather light and brighten the aurora; twist with two fingers to scrub the time of day. The canvas keeps breathing on its own between gestures.
How do I change moods or start a focus session?
Two-finger tap anywhere to reveal the control panel. From there you can switch moods, start a focus timer or breathwork session, adjust brightness, mute the audio, and capture a still of your canvas.
How do I save a picture of my canvas?
Open the control panel (two-finger tap) and tap capture. Aurora saves the still to your own photo library — iOS will ask permission the first time. Aurora only ever adds images you save; it never reads your existing photos.
Where is my data stored?
On your device. Your mood, session settings, focus history, and any captures live only on your iPhone or iPad, and deleting the app removes them. The one thing Aurora sends off-device is anonymous product-usage analytics (no personal data, no photos, no notes) to help improve the app — and you can turn it off in the control panel's guide (usage: off). Is Aurora a game?
No. There are no scores, no goals, and no fail states — Aurora is a calm, meditative space to make something beautiful and watch it settle.
